Innovation is at the heart of future success. That's why we've made a worldwide commitment to finding, supporting, and elevating the very best new innovations. The GSMA Mobile Innovation Global Awards competition recognizes excellence and showcases innovation in the global mobile industry. In the spring of 2008, we’ve launched a worldwide tournament-style competition whereby one innovative company will earn the title of "2009 Global Champion." This competition provides the opportunity for emerging technology companies to present ideas to leading industry investors, equipment vendors, and mobile operators and compete to win the global title.
At each Mobile Innovation Marketplace event, we'll review pre-selected innovative concepts from around the world. One winner will be named from each of five categories and awarded the title of "GSMA Global Semi-Finalist." From these five extraordinary ideas, “Mobile Innovation Global Finalists” will move on to compete against other Finalists selected from our other Marketplace events. From these Finalists, one innovator will be named the "GSMA Mobile Innovation Global Champion" during the renowned Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next February. Each Finalist will receive a free trip to Barcelona for the Championship.

“We’ve just announced deals with Motorola and Samsung where they are preloading
our service onto their devices. When they selected their partners they could
see we have industry recognition for our service. We have gone from being an
over-the-air type of service to having Samsung, Motorola and Sony Ericsson –
three of the top four handset manufacturers in the world – now preloading the
service. Media companies are also now more aware of us, thanks to the Mobile
Innovation Award.”
